The Studio Angelico print shop is a non-toxic environment. Akua soy based inks are used for most processes except for a few that require oil based ink. Cleanup is done with vegetable oil and simple dishwashing detergent. No acids are used for the etching process. Instead, saline sulfate, which is self-rejuvenating with minimal chemical refuse, is used to etch aluminum plates. Grounds include acrylic floor polish and water soluble relief ink. Students are required to wear nitrile gloves for all inking work.

The Printmaking and Book Arts Program utilizes up-to-date technologies alongside traditional approaches. This program is designed to explore the traditional techniques of monotype, collagraph, intaglio, polymer plate lithography, photopolymer etching, reductive relief printing, and linocut. After the fundamentals are learned, students are encouraged to approach printmaking in a variety of ways that may include the production of single or multiple prints, as well as incorporation of text, digital images, and multiple print processes.

Book design and construction are vital components of the program because they offer the possibilities of integrating the printed image with text. Numerous book formats are explored to familiarize students with structural opportunities. Lectures and discussions describing historic and contemporary art practices are provided to support the student's studio work.
