The Sculpture and Metalsmithing programs at Siena Heights University have evolved together over the past twenty-eight years. The program is currently based on an integration model that allows both disciplines to interact easily. Students are presented with an environment that stresses traditional techniques as well as current innovation. Particular attention is paid to the exploration and understanding of technique, materials and their integration into personal vision.

Sculpture and Metalsmithing is taught with an emphasis for the student to go beyond traditional boundaries to include interdisciplinary lines of investigation. These include techniques that relate to printmaking, painting, photography, graphics, ceramics, furniture, and musical instrument design, and other abstract, representational and functional approaches to contemporary Sculpture and Metalsmithing. Students are encouraged to pursue their creative visions regardless of their traditional or non-traditional nature.
